Daiwa Scholars 2002 have been studying at the Tokyo School of the Japanese Language (Naganuma School) since September 2002. They will undertake their homestay in Summer 2003 and sit Level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in December 2003.

Daiwa Scholars 2002 will begin their work placements on a part-time basis in September 2003 and then on a full-time basis from January 2004.

Natasha Brereton
Natasha graduated with a 2:1 in Chinese Studies from Wadham College, Oxford. She is planning a future career in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. 

Phoebe Dakin
Phoebe is a qualified architect (ARB) with a BArch and AADip from the Architectural Association. She has experience working as an architectural assistant.

Leo Fransella
Leo obtained a 1st in BA Chinese Studies from Balliol College, Oxford. He intends a future career in journalism.

Andrew Limond
Andrew obtained a BA in Chinese Studies from St Anne’s College, Oxford. He is developing a future career in documentary film making.

Marcus Mucha
Marcus graduated in English from Trinity College, Cambridge. He is planning a future career in business and as leader of the Mucha Foundation.
