Daiwa Foundation Small Grants are between £1,000 and £5,000. Both individuals and institutions can apply for them.

In 2003-04, Small Grants are available for 

  • conferences and symposia

  • educational exchanges

  • individual academic research 

  • travel bursaries. 

The Small Grant must be used within one calendar year of it being awarded and a report must be submitted to the Foundation within two months of the project being completed.

There are two deadlines each year, 31 March (for a decision by 31 May) and 30 September (for a decision by 30 November).
